Monroe College Names President's List Honorees for Winter 2019 Semester
More than 600 Monroe College students were named to the President's List for the Winter 2019 semester, ending in April 2019. At Monroe, the President's List comprises full-time students who have completed and excelled in their coursework, earning a grade point average between 3.80 and 4.00 over the course of the semester.

Commencement 2019
The Class of 2019 graduated on Sunday, May 26, in a ceremony concluding the College's 207th year. Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, delivered the Commencement address, advising graduates to "keep asking the hard questions and keep thinking of things we've not thought about - about social justice and inequality and seeking the truth." Hamilton's 490 graduates now join an alumni body of more than 23,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.

Class & Charter Day Awards 2019
Hamilton's annual Class & Charter Day took place on May 13. Established in 1950, the event combines the traditional Class Day celebrating the end of classes with a commemoration of the granting of College's charter on May 26, 1812. The ceremony features an address by a historian, trustee, alumnus, or faculty member whose (subject) topic is related to Hamilton's history and traditions. Academic and scholarly achievement prizes are awarded to students and faculty. More than 150 students received prizes this year. In addition, 10 faculty members were honored for their contributions in the classroom.

Spring Theatre Production: West Side Story
Sixty students participated in the Spring Theatre production of West Side Story, directed by Professor of Theatre Mark Cryer. A cast of 26 students participated in the Spring Theatre production of West Side Story, directed by Professor of Theatre Mark Cryer. A live orchestra, featuring 30 students and conducted by Heather Buchman, accompanied the performance. The classic American musical received an update with the Theatre Department's production. Set in 2018 Bronx, New York, five months after hurricane Maria, the timeless musical tells a story of love, of otherness and street gangs. West Side Story was presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Fall Theatre Production: King Stag
Hamilton students are participating in Hamilton's Fall Theatre production of King Stag, written by Carlo Gozzi and directed by Professor of Theatre Craig Latrell. King Stag, written in 1762, is a fairy tale about love, death, and transformation. The show centers on the human search for honesty in a fantastical world plagued by duplicity and greed. Bunraku-style puppets are used to portray a range of figures, from the stag referenced in the title, to a towering bear, to an animated statue.

Monroe College Conferred Degrees on 2,800 Students Representing 68 Countries at 84th Annual Commencement
Monroe College, a national leader in educating urban and international students, held its 84th Annual Commencement on Tuesday, June 7, 2017 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. New York City Council Member Annabel Palma and New York State Assemblymember Michael Blake gave commencement addresses. Two separate ceremonies were held to accommodate the families and friends of the 2,800 students receiving Associate, Bachelor's or Master's degrees and professional certificates.

Ovation Festival 2017, BW's annual celebration of student achievement, showcased student success in research and scholarship, the arts, experiential learning and leadership, and athletics. More than 300 students met requirements for graduation from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2016 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. More than 500 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

Nearly 250 SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in Spring 2015. SUNY Potsdam's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements.
